The South - South media Lab program is a collaboration between icebauhaus (Germany), common room (Indonesia) and iceaddis (Ethiopia) and was made possible with funding from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
iceaddis is Ethiopia’s first innovation hub & tech startup incubator and, as an open community workspace in central Addis Ababa, functions as a vibrant meeting and connection point for the local startup, media technology and creative industries scenes. iceaddis is a member of the icehubs network, afrilabs, GIG and several other local and international partnership networks.
icebauhaus, founded in 2012, is the German partner in the international icehubs network of greentech & social innovation hubs. icebauhaus is geared towards bottom-up strategies that combines both local and international trends with state-of-theart technological developments. Over the course of the last years, icebauhaus has been supporting many grassroots initiatives within the media, IT, urban and rural development, business development and educational sectors in Africa and elsewhere.
